Visiting the Bradfords in Switzerland

Donnell Bradford is one of the Boro Girls.  Most people who know one of us know all of us, but if you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Donnell, you will here.  Donnell's husband, John, is a professor of Geophysics (or something more complicated than this so he just dumbs it down for the rest of us) at Boise State University.  He somehow arranged to have his sabbatical in Lausanne, Switzerland for four months this year.  Donnell is a ObGyn and could take a leave of absence.  Their children are just darn lucky and got to home school and summer school in order to take the spring semester off and join in on the fun.

View from Bradford's in Montreux
Montreux is a beautiful smaller town around Lake Geneva from Lausanne.  The Bradfords graciously invited me, Jeff, Lisa and Beau for a visit.  Our first order of business while in Switzerland was to travel to France.  We took a train and then boat to the other side of the lake.  Here are some interesting sites along the way.

Much training and discipline

And, if training and discipline doesn't work,
Flora Torture is very common in Europe

There is beauty everywhere you look here.  It is very difficult to pick out the post worthy pictures.  This was a multiple repeat trip for the Bradfords, but they really did show us a great time.

Jeff and I really enjoy just walking around and looking at architecture.  There was plenty of that to do in France.

I just love all these stairs

Jeff lived in Annapolis, Maryland and has an affinity for boats.  Since I don't remember any of the history of this town, I will just share some pretty pictures and memories of the day with great friends!

One cannot blog about France without talking about food.  It is what they do best!  We had a wonderful lunch that was as pretty as it was tasty.  The color of my risotto was a purply-gray that is inspiring me to go home and paint my bedroom.  What could possibly color the risotto this shade that we had never seen before outside of Sherwin Williams, Lisa and I wondered?  Lisa didn't really want to know and I spoiled the rest of her meal by asking the waiter.  Of course, squid ink.  Yummy too!
