We arrived in Old Veldhoven to our new loft on Tuesday, February 7. Old Veldhoven is sort of a suburb of Eindhoven. We live in a furnished space above a home decor shop. There are plenty of windows and light, but it is unseasonably cold here. The temperature was -8 degrees Celsius when we arrived. We have the heat on full blast and still can't seem to warm up. Our blood has thinned in California.
We have two bedrooms, but need to get a full size bed for the spare before our first visitors arrive. By the way, unless you are planning a ski vacation in the Alps, you should probably wait a few months for the weather to warm up.
Jeff and I seem to be sleeping in shifts, four hours on and four hours off. Today's excitement was returning our rental car. Jeff was in the lead in the rental with the GPS. It took me a few circles to realize that we were not actually lost, but circling for entertainment's sake? Actually, apparently we were in search of a gas station, which we found after one hour of circling and driving the last few yards on a bike path. Its a good thing the cars are small here.
Tomorrow we both actually have to report to work, so we really have to get on the appropriate sleep schedule......
