Prague with Isabelle and Spencer

We rejoined Isabelle and Spencer for the last week of their trip in Prague.  They were coming from Budapest by train and Jeff and I drove from Veldhoven.  People in Europe think we are insane, but we don't think an 8 hour drive (or a few) is a big deal, especially when you get to see Prague, Trieste, Lake Como, Interlaken and Brussels along the way!

The Charles Bridge
The Charles Bridge is named after Charles IV, the Holy Roman Emperor who ruled from Prague in the 14th century.  There are statues on both sides and on all pillars.  They are mostly black with centuries of dirt, except for the gold.  Many of the figures are holding gold crosses or have other gold accessories.

Most of our time in Prague was spent walking around taking pictures.  We will have to go back to really get into the culture and history.

The colors on the buildings are really amazing

When Spencer was a baby, Jeff would get up at night to feed him
and they would watch the Simpsons together.
In Prague they shared some Duff beer.

You can't deny those genes

Isabelle's Door

On a purely artistic note, these two doors are for Sherry.  With all that we have in our view finder this year, I know this is odd, but I like them in so many ways.  What do you think?

I tried, and failed miserably, to find the single picture that captures the beauty and intrigue that you find in Prague.  It is known as the city of 100 Spires.  Today they own up to over 500.  When we left Prague, I knew that I needed to come back.
