Its hard to see a big city as a little kid. We did have a chance to go on a canal cruise that Chase really seemed to enjoy. This is a replica of one of the old sailing ships. The boys also got to go to an Ajax (pronounced I-Yaks) game while the girls enjoyed our amazing Hotel Vondel near Vondel Park.
We really enjoy staying at Vondel Park since it is such a great place for the kids to play.
Sadly, Chase, Carly and their parents eventually did have to leave us. We said goodbye in Amsterdam and they were off to Iceland for a quick stop on their way home. Being away from our families is definitely the hardest part of living in Europe. Most everything else is either great fun or challenging in an enriching sort of way. I know everything happens the way it should in life. So, if we stay longer or go home next spring as planned, we will make the most of our opportunities. When we do move back, I may need to live in Golden to catch up on lost time!
