Paris with Jeanne and Bert Harkins

In only about 36 hours, we really did it right....
The majority of that time was spent in two cafes.  Here is the proof of one.  The courtyard just to the right of us was idyllic.  Both Bert and I were sufferring from a bug, so lots of resting was required.

We did manage to do the "Biggies".  The three things that you must see in the Louvre....

Mona Lisa

Venus de Milo
#3...The Apple Store in the basement!  Too bad we didn't get a picture.  No kidding...We could not believe the commercialism of it all.  There was a HUGE Apple store with lots of customers, a Starbucks, and a very high end shopping mall under the Louvre!  I didn't remember that from 1989?  All of this is at the bottom point of the pyramid where you will also find the matching golden pyramid.  I have no recollection of what Dan Brown said about all this, but it is there.

Don't forget beautiful Notre Dame.  I haven't been inside for many years and was thrilled to see communion taking place.  Easter weekend was a fantiastic time to visit.

Pitiful attempt at a collage
Jeanne, Bert, Jeff and I laughed to all hours of the night about college memories.  How lucky are we who are blessed with such genuine and long lasting friendships?  We topped off our visit with a dinner cruise on the Seine.  This is THE WAY to see the 'City of Lights'.

Au revoir.....
