Prepare to be Dazzled

The Keukenhof is a 79 acre public garden near the coast of The Netherlands south of Amsterdam.  It was started in 1949 to showcase the bulbs and their growers.  They estimate that there are around 6 million bulbs planted here.  The most important of these, of course, is the tulip.  The tulip originally came from Turkey and was cultivated in The Netherlands in 1593.  The pictures speak for themselves....

As is ALWAYS the case, the pictures really can't begin to show you how beautiful this place is.  It is only open from mid March to mid May and they must have an army of people working all night to keep it so pristine.  If you are ever lucky enough to be here in the spring, it is an experience not to be missed.
