October is Football month! I guess some things are the same all over the world. We found a great home game on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to check out the action. PSV Eindhoven is our local team and they happen to be quite good.
PSV or Philips Sport Vereniging (Philips Sports United) played NAC Breda at a packed house in Philips Stadium on October 7. The Netherlands is a powerhouse for football and PSV along with Ajax, the Amsterdam team, are some of the strongest in the league.

This shows you just what great seats we had! Since we aren't members, we were allowed to buy premium tickets online at a premium price which gets you some snacks and credit at the Fan Shop. We needed soccer jerseys anyway, so this worked out to be a great deal for us.

It wasn't a surprise that PSV won so easily since they out-ranked NAC Breda by quite a spread at this time. I know very little about the sport, but I have learned that the Dutch style is very measured and calculated, not surprisingly. It was surprising, however, that they were shut out in the first round of the Euro Cup this year. That was a bummer for all of us, but we still wear our Orange!
