Anyone who knows me well won't be the least bit surprised that when we arrived in Giethoorn, I had no idea where I was! For the life of me, I could not figure out where we needed to go to get to the familiar furry cows and canal streets. Eventually, I realized that Lisa and I had turned around when we got to the location where the tour buses come in. Obviously, you can't drive on the canal streets and we were only passing through Giethoorn, so it was an entirely new experience :)

This time, we took a whisper boat tour |

It was relaxing and easy to see the town from the boat. The whisper boats carry a lot of people and rule the waterways due to their size. They are 'whisper' boats because they are powered by electric engines and very quiet.

Somehow, both children managed to stay inside the boat (for the most part) the entire trip.

More Dutch flowers and warm sunshine |

Te Koop = For Sale |
There were tons of people and different types of boats out on the water. Of course, all you can really do is ride around and enjoy the sunshine and scenery since the lake is only about 3 feet deep! No skiing and certainly no diving here. Giethoorn was fun to see but we were ready to head over the causeway and hang out in Waterland.
