In case Jeff is boring you with bicycles and mechanical troubles, I thought I would get your brains going on possible European Vacations that you might take! Please see the links to the left on our blog.
Jeff and I are interested in a cycling trip this summer to anywhere. Alix, a running friend from Nashville, has done the Danube trip and really enjoyed it. If you check the details, you will see that there are only mountains on either side of the bike path which follows the river. We all know rivers don't flow uphill (river), so I figure this has got to be a great choice for an out of shape cyclist like me!
Another trip that we will make this year but haven't scheduled is a trip to the Cinque Terre and Tuscany. If you check out the Back Roads link you will see why. Back Roads seems a little pricey but I am told they are worth it. A friend in Coronado had my dream retirement job right out of college working as a Cycling Tour Guide with Back Roads. How cool is that? Of course, we would plan out a similar itinerary for much less Euros and, of course, you would get the bonus of our company ;)
Yet another cycling trip option is with VBT. Our friend, Lisa, has taken two EU cycling trips with them and enjoyed them (except for losing her luggage which I am sure was the airline's fault).
So, Go Ahead! Take a mini vacation from your day job and follow these links. If you get serious about doing any of this, please let us know because we are game!
